Cal-i-fornia Here I Come

We took two weeks to go to California so that Hayden could finally meet our friends and family out there. It was so great to see everyone! Hayden had a blast. There was so much that happened while we were there I've tried to include a sample of it in this slide show. Enjoy!

Father's Day

On Mark's first Father's Day Hayden and I took him to Carrabba's. Then when we got home from lunch we surprised him with his present -- A jogging stroller.
--On a side note, the stroller has since been re-named the rollerblading stroller.

Hayden Goes Swimming

This actually happened for the first time in May, but I'm in the better late than never mode on the blog right now.
Funny story about Hayden's floaty... We really wanted to get this floaty for Hayden and the store had been sold out. On the day we were going swimming they had some in stock so we grabbed one and then went home. It's a 15 min drive one way to the store and it wasn't until swim suits and sunscreen were on before I realized our mistake. The floaty came in a blue mesh bag, but there were two colors to choose from. Neither one of us noticed the hot pink under the blue mesh. Not wanting to waste any more time away from the pool we used what we got (A BIG thanks to Jamie who has since traded us for the blue one she had!). Hayden had a blast in the water and we try to go at least once a week (With hurricane season it gets hard because we've been getting a lot of rain).

So Much Has Happened

So much has happened since the last time I updated the blog. I'm mainly behind due to our two week vacation to California. However, I'm also finding it harder and harder to find free time the older Hayden gets. I'm going to do my best to get caught up and maintain the updates.

You want me to eat what?!

Since Hayden is five months old we have started to introduce solid foods. His first food ever? Green beans. How did he like them? You'll just have to watch to find out.

Attention Tooth Fairy

Hayden just wanted to let the Tooth Fairy (and everyone else) know that he has teeth now. Both his bottom front teeth are in and he loves to show them off (except when Mommy tries to take a picture). While Hayden is very excited about his new teeth Mommy hopes the rest take a while to come in since she is still breastfeeding.

New Milestone

Like every new parent I LOVE to brag about my little man's accomplishments. This short video shows Hayden's newest ability -- Rolling Over!

Mother's Day

This was my first Mother's Day and Mark and Hayden took me out to lunch to celebrate. We went to a local Italian restaurant called Brio's. I had a blast getting to hang out with my boys and Hayden did awesome even though we had to wait about an hour to be seated (Not bad at all considering we didn't have reservations!)

4 - 5 Months

Well I waited so long to update the blog that Hayden is 5 months already so I might as well combine the 4 & 5 month updates...

First Video

This is the first time I'm attempting to put a video on the blog. It's a mash up of some of the things Hayden has been doing over the last month. Including tummy time, playing with toys, jumping in his bouncer, not taking naps, and dancing. Enjoy!

3 Months Already?!

I've noticed that months go by much quicker when they are being used as milestones. It feels like I just finished updating Hayden's two month progress. Since he is going to be 14 weeks in a few days I should probably do his three month update. =)

Weight: 12 lbs 12 oz
Length: 24 in (approximately)
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Blue/Gray, Blue/Brown, Blue/Green. Depends on the day...
Milestones: Tracks objects with his eyes. Grabs for things with purpose. Holds and plays with toys. Uses the same utterance for certain objects. (ie always says "mo-mo" when looking at monkeys. He says "mum" and I pretend we're British and respond like he said "mom", etc.).
Likes: Monkey mobile, peek-a-boo, bath time, teddy bear(s), monkey blanky
Dislikes: Naps and the nose bulb
Nicknames: Haydini, Stinky, Monkey/Scimmia (monkey in Italian)
